Did you know we have our very own plot at the beautiful Green Shoots Walled Garden in Glencruitten?
With the help of a grant from 'Food for Life' we are going to be growing edible plants and flowers this Summer.
We will be joined by our young carers during the school holidays when we will cook with our herbs, and create our own lip balm and hand creams using plants from the garden.
We also have loads of flower seeds growing just now which we'll be planting out when they're big enough, and our 'cutting garden' will be there for everyone to help themselves to flowers over the summer months.
Green Shoots is a lovely space to meet and enjoy a cuppa and a chat. No need to get involved in digging and planting unless you want to. It's open to all carers and their cared for who would like to spend some time in a beautiful garden.
We currently meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays from 1.30pm. Bring a picnic lunch and see what it's all about.
