'Who Cares?' - A touring exhibition of photographic images taken by carers while on a residential break on Tiree.
The exhibition has been shown at the Hebridean Trust Building, Hynish,Tiree, Waterstones,Oban, and An Tobar,Tobermory, during 2017.
In October 2016, a group of 5 carers travelled from North Argyll Carers Centre, Oban, to the Hynish Centre, Tiree, for several days of respite and creative photography workshops.
A caring role is a complex one, and can affect people in both similar and different ways. Carers can lose their own identity, and have little or no ‘time for me’.
The photographs exhibited were all taken by the group of carers while on Tiree, or on the ferry journey there and back. The group were encouraged to think about themselves and create a self -portrait (without taking photos of themselves) from a series of images taken during their time away from caring.
